Rogers Ranch Texas

Rogers Ranch was named for Martha A. and C.M. Rogers when it was just a tiny little community near Lockhart, Texas. The Rogers owned a large ranch that spilled over into three counties, and that is why Rogers Ranch was given its name. It was in the 1890s that the land was sold into lots and the southeastern part of the ranch became known as Rogers Ranch. The new community was home to many Germans. Amazingly, the church and school services were conducted in German and English for some time for the German residents.

The Lockhart Independent School District merged with the Rogers Ranch schools in 1950. Gradually the land that made up Rogers Ranch was bought out and by the late 1960s the only thing left to mark the spot were a few cemeteries.

Today, Rogers Ranch is a beautiful master-planned community that boasts estate homes, and is located near Highway 281, I-10, and Loop 1604. Within the gated community are several smaller gated areas that create mini communities. There is a wide range of Rogers Ranch real estate to choose from including garden homes to large estate homes. Prices range from the high $200s to the $800s, although these are subject to the real estate market. A very desirable North Central San Antonio neighborhood with easy access in and out to Highway Loop 1604, La Cantera Shopping Mall, HEB Plus Grocery Market & fine dining.

Rogers Ranch Schools
There are two school districts serving Rogers Ranch including the North East Independent School District and the Northside Independent School District. Where you live within Roger’s Ranch will determine which school district your child attends.
